In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is KING!

How To Wear Your Monocle

The monocle is a simple alternative to reading glasses and it works, it pre-dates electricity and despite being in the shadow for 100 years it is more relevant now in the 21st century digital age, than when it was invented in the 18th century.

It succeeds where other reading aids fail, its portability, you won't even know when you're carrying it, so it's never an inconvenience and never left behind. Like putting a watch on in a morning, it’s always there when you need it and always complimenting your look.

Expect it to feel a little odd when you first start wearing a monocle but stick with it and in no time at all we are confident you will master your new craft. Your monocle will feel comfortable and natural, you will wonder how you ever managed without it.

The monocle should not be 'gripped' using the muscles around the eye, refrain from squeezing to hold it in place.

The gallery (the raised top and bottom rim of the monocle) should be horizontal and its purpose serves to keep the lens away from the eye to improve comfort and give you a more secure fit.

Step 1: Hold the monocle by the loop where the pendant meets the monocle (See FIG. 01.) and 'tip it' so the top gallery makes contact first with the loose skin between the eyebrow and the top of the eyelid.

Step 2: Then with a slight upward motion the bottom gallery should be brought in to contact with the skin at the bottom of the eye socket.

Step 3: With practice, this quick and easy manoeuvre will hold the monocle loosely but firmly in place.

Once the monocle is sat in place, keep both eyes open, as much as we would all love to be a pirate the monocle is not an eye patch. The brain quickly compensates so no blurring will occur and your vision in both eyes will be correct.

There is an inescapable pleasure in the realisation that the blurry eyed, face contorting, arm stretching, inability to read menus and mobiles, price labels, and credit card receipts is a thing of the past.

In the kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is king!!

My mobile arrived, more from a “dare” from my daughter, I am still getting used to it and using it more often. The only very small point I would raise, I am a biggish bloke and it is taking some practice to keep it in place, any chance these could be made with a larger diameter? Another 3 or 5 mm would be perfect.

previous to and you’re just too magnificent. I really like what you’ve acquired here, really like what you are stating and the way in which you
say it. You make it enjoyable and you still take care of
to keep it wise. I cant wait to read far more from you.

This is really a tremendous site. https://goo.gl/xqzXND

Another essential skill is to be able to let the monocle fall out of your eye to show surprise. Ensuring it is attached to the lanyard first!

I am still having difficulties keeping it in place especially when looking down to read. I really want to use it all the time but it’s such a challenge for me. Is it possible that it’s to small for my face or am I just an inpatient yank?
